K-3 Celebrates Fall!

The K-3 Staff at SCPA put on an amazing Fall Festival for our youngest talents at SCPA. Students got to dress up in costumes and play fall themed games. If each student won at least five games they won bags of candy! The candy donated from our Alumni Association. Thanks to the gifts from our alum every child that attended the event went home with a sweet treat!

SCPA MORE STUDENTS INVITED TO TOUR NEW FREEDOM CENTER EXHIBIT

The SCPA M.O.R.E (Men, Organized, Respectful, and Educated) programs for 4th -6th Grade and 7th/8th Grade were invited by the Womens Allience of Cincinnati to tour a new exhibit at The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center called “Men of Change”. The new exhibit gave the young men a chance to explore the stories, struggles, and success of Black and Brown men of the last 400 years like Emmitt Till, Lebron James, Langston Hughes, Kendrick Lamar, John P Parker, and Robert Smith.

The MORE students also got a chance to tour the rest of the freedom center. Allowing them to learn the story of slavery and the brave men and women across color lines who pushed for freedom. The students were lead by 2014 graduate and Alumni Board Vice President Joshua Trotter.
