Bob Ohr Archives

The NAAcSCPA extends tremendous gratitude to Bob Ohr, who was the photographer for SCPA from 1983 to 2007. He has shared (and entrusted) his collection of SCPA photos with NAAcSCPA, and we are proud to be able to share his collection with all of you here.

A message from Mr. Bob Ohr:

Bob Ohr, photographer of the stars!

In 1983 I was asked by Jack Louiso, the Artistic Director at SCPA, to take photos of the musical, West Side Story. It was an unbelievable production! That began a great collaboration with Jack and SCPA that lasted for more than 20 years. During that time, I photographed lots of things… Musical Theatre, Dance, Academics, and other events such as trips to Japan and Europe, the Erich Kunzel fund raiser for the building of the new school, and the ground-breaking event for the new SCPA building.

I have a library of many of these productions in negatives, prints, 35mm slides and digital media. Most of these photos have not been shared.

I believe that after all of these years, this material should be made available to the students, parents, and staff that were involved in these events. With the help of Joshua Trotter ‘14, Kenneth Gibson ‘87, and the Alumni Marketing and Communications Committee, this material will be posted online, both on SCPA Alumni’s Facebook and the SCPA Alumni Website.

A special thanks to Jack Louiso for inviting me to be involved in such a special place like SCPA, and to the students and staff for making an “outsider” feel welcome.

I hope that you enjoy looking at these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
